Google Keyboard Official Release

Google has released an update to the soft keyboard for Android 4.2. Although this is the default for Nexus systems, any device running Android 4.0 or higher can download app.  This is one feature that iOS users do not have the luxury of accessing.  It was possible to access this keyboard previously via side-loading, but this is the first time that Google has made it official.

For first time users the key feature of this app is the ability to complete an entire word without lifting a finger. The sliding or swiping ability of this app makes writing a whole new experience, let alone writing on a mobile device.  Some of the features that you may have come to expect in a software keyboard are included in this new release as well, such as predictive typing, auto error correction, and auto capitalization.

One key feature and a staple for Android devices is Voice Typing.  Of you're still unsure of your keyboard abilities, Voice typing may be your style.  Google voice recognition has always been quite good' and may very well drastically reduce the time you take to generate text.
If you happen to be the sort who's vernacular is slightly ahead of the current dictionary, Google allows for the addition of other non-standard words.  For now only English-speaking countries will be able to access the app on the Google Play Store, but you cab grab a copy of the APK from Android Police
