TWIT Play: Streaming Audio from the TWIT Network

Leo Laporte and crew work their magic from the TWiT Studio in Petaluma, CA every day.  It's possible to get access to the audio online or via a paid app, but a friend and fan of the group, James Pesculis wrote this awesome, yet simple free app for the studio.

As noted above there's not much to the app.  Via a simple, yet vibrant main screen all the live daily shows are listed. At the bottom of the screen the twit logo with the play button over it.  The only function of this button is play and stop.  In the settings menu there are a few features.

Settings

Detect Headset Unplug - if you want the app to stop the audio stream when the headset is unplugged, select this option

Notifications

  • Push Notifications - This is where the notifications are sent from a remote location, that being the TWiT Studio
  • Upcoming Shows - If you have Push Notifications turned on, here you can choose which shows push notifications to you.
  • Sound - Here you can set which sound notifies you of the shows that you want to hear.

Sleep Timer

  • Set Time - How long do you want the app to run after you fall asleep
  • Reset Timer - Do you want the timer to reset to become disabled after one run?
I use this app every so often, especially when I've cleared out my queue in DoggCatcher. I quite like the TWiT Network for all the funny stuff that goes on in between shows, since they're live most of the day. And when they're not live, they're still streaming repeat shows.

Check this app out on the Play Store
